Little trooper

Cooper got his first sickness this week.  He's been dealing with a possible upper respiratory infection (coughing, sneezing, runny nose) but handling it like a champ.  And surprise, surprise - his weight has continued to climb to a whopping 15 lb. 4 oz.!  We have enjoyed a low-key Memorial Day weekend as the little man gets better.

First time in the Bumbo - he loves it!

Practicing his "walk"

Happy Memorial Day, everyone!

Almost 4 months old!

Cooper is still growing like a weed!  He is changing right before our eyes...growing bigger, "talking" more, grasping his toys, and more.  Last week during tummy time, he rolled from front to back twice.  He hasn't figured out how to do it again, much to his frustration, but that will come with time.  Most nights he averages 8 hours between feedings, which is so nice.  We're still adjusting to my going back to work.  I'd be lying if I said this lifestyle is easy, but it seems like we're getting into the groove more with each passing day.

Last Saturday, Jason and I celebrated our birthdays (along with my parents).  Of all the things we could have chosen to do that day, we decided to hang around the house and spend time with Cooper.  Guess that's a sign of our age as well as the major life change we've just experienced.  It was such a nice day!

Cooper sporting the CU shirt sent by my clients.  I think he's a future graduate.

Like father, like son...

Hopefully I'll have more photos to share in the next couple of weeks!

14 Weeks Old: Happiest Baby on the Block

Now that I'm back to work, time to blog is very limited.  I will do my best to post photos regularly since that's what everyone really cares about!

Some milestones from the past couple of weeks:
-Cooper likes to "talk" to us.  His coos and sounds are so sweet.
-He can hold his head up well and is getting so much better on his tummy.
-He's sleeping well at night.  Last night he slept through the entire night!  (It won't last, but it still gives me a glimmer of hope.)
-He loves to smile, especially at daddy.  His demeanor has improved drastically and it's very clear that his tummy issues have improved.
-He was dedicated at church last week and we had a wonderful Mother's Day together with both sides of the family.

A few photos

Hanging out with Daddy

Favorite activity

Lots of smiles and giggles these days.  They're hard to catch since our smartie pants won't smile as soon as he sees a camera!

12 weeks old and it's back to work for me...

Cooper had his 12-week doctor's appointment this morning.  Our little chunk-a-munk weighs 13 lb. 11 oz. and is 23 inches long.  No wonder he feels so heavy to carry!  Good news is that he is very healthy.  Other good news is that his digestive issues are definitely improving with time.  Bad news is that the doctor once again commented on his "strong" personality.  I think that's code for "you're in trouble when this child is 2".  In all seriousness, Cooper has never hidden his feelings.  He clearly doesn't like the doctor's office and hates shots, and he has no qualms about sharing those feelings with all of us!

I'm back at work this week so we're going through a big adjustment.  Besides being tired and not having enough time, the week is going as well as could be expected.  The flowers that "Cooper" sent me really made my day on Monday.  I like the balance of job and baby and so look forward to seeing Cooper when I get home from work.  Jason has really pitched in with all of the responsibilities, and that helps a ton.  My mother-in-law is keeping Cooper.  She's so good with him and I have no worries about whether he is in good hands.  It will take some time for us to get into the routine but we'll get there!

I haven't had time to upload any new photos, but promise to post a few soon.  Thanks to everyone who is sticking with the blog!
