Life has changed!

I knew life would be different once Cooper arrived, but couldn't grasp exactly how. Here are just a few ways.  Luckily, Jason and I are getting used to our new life and learning the importance of teamwork!

1.  I can get ready for the day in 15 minutes, if necessary.  Bonus points if I get to shower.
2.  The hair dryer is an appliance of the past, now collecting dust in a drawer.
3.  As a foodie, I used to start thinking about lunch during breakfast, dinner during lunch, dessert during dinner, etc.  Now I'm simply grateful if I got to eat 3 meals that day.
4.  While grocery shopping, I'm always searching for breakfast and lunch foods that can be eaten with one hand.
5.  I used to be exhausted if I got less than 8 hours of sleep.  Now I'm lucky to piece together 6 hours in a night...and I'm still functioning!
6.  Bodily functions (i.e. poop, pee, spit-up, and gas) are now a part of everyday conversation.
7.  Our house looks more lived in (i.e. messy) than ever before.
8.  My job, which I'll return to in 2 weeks, may actually feel like a break!
9.  Weekends are less about "doing stuff" and more about spending time together.

In all seriousness, we love our little man, and we're liking him more every day!  He is smiling more and more and making cute little sounds.  He stares at the TV but has very little interest in books, so it appears he's taking after his daddy. :)  He's showing more interest in his toys every day.  And, he will play by himself for longer periods of time.  How his tummy feels is the determining factor in each day and night, and we're hoping that will get better very soon.  Check out some pics from the last couple of weeks.

Hooray for the Easter Bunny!

2 months!

We have survived 2 months of parenthood.  When people ask how we're doing, I always say "great, but tired".  That pretty much sums it up!

This week, Cooper finally cracked a REAL smile and it's adorable!  (His timing was great too since all of the family was in town for Easter.)  Finally, you can coo and fuss over him and he'll smile and play back.

He is also officially sleeping in the nursery crib at night.  I find it liberating, Jason is still adjusting (he was sleeping uninterrupted in the guest room for the past 5 weeks), and Cooper is doing just great!  More and more, he is going up to 5.5 hours before wanting his middle-of-the-night feeding.

Cooper's first Easter was great.  He got to see all of his extended family.  He went to church and was very well-behaved in the nursery again.  The Easter Bunny paid him a visit, too.

Here are some photos from the week...
