A new way to eat Cheerios

Cooper has taught himself some new tricks - like a new way to eat his snack...

15-month update:
  • 25 lbs. and 32" tall...big boy
  • Thanks to tubes, he can hear well now.  Babbling has picked up and he even says a few "words" - kitty, hi, "cuh" for "cracker", and "cack, cack" (quack, quack)
  • He follows some directions.  When you tell him to "give hugs", he snuggles up against the nearest object.
  • He loves blueberries, bananas, peanut butter, crackers, yogurt, waffles, and applesauce.  Working to get more veggies and meat into that diet!
  • Running is the preferred method of movement.
  • Sleep is finally consistent!!!  10-11 hours at night and 1-3 hours during the day.  (I'm going to regret posting that.)
  • So much smiles and laughter...so many temper tantrums.  It's hard to keep up!

Almost 14 months!

Cooper's growing faster than we can fathom.  Here's what he's been up to lately...

-Playing outside as much as possible. When he's not outside, he likes to stare out the window.

-Playing ball. We have a house full of toys, and that's pretty much the only thing he wants to play with.

-Being tickled.  Under the arms and the bottoms of his feet are his tickle spots.

-Going to the doctor, thanks to 4 ear infections since January.  He'll be getting tubes this Friday - hopefully that does the trick.

-Getting his 2nd haircut.  He cried the entire time, but the nice lady managed to cut his hair anyway.

-Snuggling all of his soft toys.  It's the sweetest thing to watch him hug them (but he has little interest in hugging humans yet!).

-Saying "Hi ki-ki" and chasing the cats around the house.

-Cutting lots of teeth. We've lost count, but he has at least 10.

-Weighing close to 25 lbs.

-Drinking from a sippy cup like a champ (finally) but still preferring baby food to most finger foods.  It's a slow work in progress.  Clearly, he's not hurting for calories.

Happy 90th!

Last weekend we celebrated my Grandma Yogi's 90th birthday!  Most of the family was able to get together for lunch at Firebirds.  Cooper does great in restaurants so far - we just kept feeding him and he was happy. As you can see, he and Grandma entertained each other quite a bit.

Little Explorer

Cooper has explored lots of new things since his 1-year birthday.

Sitting in a mountain of toys (a.k.a. what happens when you have Christmas and birthday 6 weeks apart...)

Getting some much-needed fresh air with Daddy

1st visit to the Children's Museum - loved looking at the fish

Making the cow "moo" over and over again

Deep in thought on his 1st train ride at the museum

Learning to walk in the grass

Showing off some new tricks

"Picking berries" with Eliott at the Children's Museum

Playing with Daddy
Staring out the window - his new hobby

In other updates, Cooper is walking very well, though still holds hands in the air for balance.  He's very tentative and cautious to try new things but eventually embraces them.  He weighs 23 lb. 9 oz. and is 30 in. tall - finally 50/50 for height AND weight!  Thanks to constant teething, he has 8 teeth now.  And he loves, loves, loves being outside and anything related to nature.

We're looking forward to the adventures that will come with warmer weather - swimming, playing outside, and the beach!
